African Aviation Industry Set to Converge at AviaDev Africa 2026 and AFCAC Air Transport Convention & Expo

Africa’s aviation industry is preparing for two major continental events that will bring together aviation leaders, regulators, airlines, airports, investors, training organisations, and aviation service providers to discuss the future of air transport across the continent.

AviaDev Africa 2026 in Botswana and the AFCAC African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026 in Togo are expected to provide important platforms for collaboration, policy discussions, route development, investment engagement, and industry networking as African aviation continues to expand and evolve.

AviaDev Africa 2026 – Botswana

AviaDev Africa 2026 will take place from 10–12 June 2026 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) in Gaborone, Botswana. The event marks the 10th edition of AviaDev Africa, which has become one of the continent’s leading aviation route development conferences.

Over the past decade, AviaDev has established itself as a key platform focused on improving air connectivity within Africa by facilitating direct engagement between airlines, airports, tourism authorities, governments, investors, and aviation suppliers.

The conference is expected to attract:

AFCAC African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026 – Togo

Following AviaDev Africa, aviation stakeholders will convene in Lomé, Togo for the inaugural AFCAC African Air Transport Convention & Expo 2026, scheduled to take place from 15–19 June 2026.

Organised by the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) together with the African Union Commission (AUC), the convention is expected to become one of the continent’s most important high-level aviation policy and strategy gatherings.

Hosted under the theme:

“Single African Sky: Connectivity and Sustainable Development of Air Transport”

the event will focus on advancing the implementation of the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM), one of the African Union’s flagship Agenda 2063 initiatives aimed at liberalising African air transport and strengthening continental connectivity.

The convention is expected to attract a high-level audience that includes:

  • Ministers responsible for Transport, Aviation, Tourism, Trade, Finance and Infrastructure,
  • Directors General of Civil Aviation Authorities,
  • Airline executives,
  • Airport operators,
  • Air Navigation Service Providers,
  • Regulators,
